Dear Nebraska and Iowa,

get your stuff together. Meet, call each other, or whatever. Just don't schedule races on the same day and then wonder why your turnout is half what you thought it would be.

Case 1 - the Dave Babcock Memorial stage race and Blue Booze and Barbeque weekend in Clear Lake. Both, from what I gather are great races. July 12

Case 2 - Race formally known as the Lincoln Plating (Spring Classic) and Finchford Roubaix. April 13.

Yes, I understand that not all races can be coordinated for separate weekends. But the there are 4 weekends in May that are free. Use them. A little communication and we would all be racing these weekend and not twiddling thumbs in the month of may.

Sincerely,

The management.

agreed. I was planning on both Iowa races, especially Finchford-Roubaix, which would have been a great tuneup for the (insert sponsor here) Spring Classic.

not only that, but lippold pointed out that, once again the iowa state time trial championship is the SAME DATE as the tour of kansas city.

in my mind, it just means that the promoters, or the teams that sponsor them, are chickenshits who are afraid of REAL competition.

there is absolutely NO reason that more people could race MORE races and promoters would make more money and the racers would have a higher level of competition.

but in the meantime, cluck cluck cluck, y'all.

Scheduling is always difficult. As in in Iowa we have 7 races on the weekends of May and over 100 races spread out over the year.
There is a lot of racing going on in the mid west and racers have to make some difficult decisions.
See you at Finchford.
